The NBA Returns
NBA Player Association Reps approved the NBA’s 22-team format to complete the 2019-2020 season. Target Dates involving the NBA for the return of this season, and the 20-21 campaign. NBA has scheduled an August 25th Draft Lottery, along with an October 15th Draft, for the 2021 season.

NBA Draft 2020

29 out of the 30 NBA teams approved the 22-team resumption of the season. The only team that voted no? The Trailblazers.

Full details of the NBA’s return : 
- 22 teams, returning July 31st. 
- 8 regular season games per team. 
- 16 current playoff teams, and Suns, Spurs, Pelicans, Kings, Wizards, and Blazers. 
- Play-in tournament for the 8-seed (double elimination).

The NBA’s 8-seed play-in tournament details : 
- Will include the No. 8 seed and No. 9 seed, only if a team is within 4 games of the 8-seed. - 9-seed must defeat the 8-seed in back-to-back games to advance to the playoffs. If the 8-seed wins one game, they advance.

The NBA plans to hold six games per day during the regular season in Orlando. The NBA plans to conduct daily tests on players during the league’s regular season and playoffs. If a player tests positive, a minimum of 7 days of quarantine will be enforced. The NBA plans to hold 2 to 3 preseason scrimmages per team before the regular season begins on July 31. The NBA will consider using NBA2K crowd sounds during the regular season and playoffs to improve the quality of games.
